When I was in grade 8, I teamed-up with another kid and we started jotting-down plans for a hovercraft. It would be 8ftx4ft, it would be a two-seater, it would be gas-powered, and it would rock. We got as far as mounting an old Eager-1 lawnmower engine into the center of a piece of plywood, and attaching an old radiator fan from a mercedes-benz. The gas-powered piece of wood sat in the corner of my yard for 5 years, and then we dismantled it and moved on.
The dream, however, lives on! Some day, I want to ride my hovercraft around, hopping curbs, speedbumps and bodies of water as if they never existed at all.

You should probably add what you learned about the difference between a fan that blows perpendicular to the blades, and one that blows out the ends of the blades; the latter being more useful for your hovercraft plans than the radiator fan

Yeah yeah.. man why you gotta embarass me in front of my friends.. I also learned the difference between an impeller and a propeller, but let the record show that I made plans for both types.
